My husband and I own a house in Orangeburg, and our two children go to school in Columbia near the Shop Rd. exit off of 77. During the school year, we are in Columbia often. We are clean, organized, non-smoking people that are used to taking care of our house and the needs of our rental property in Charleston. We are good at keeping everything inside the house and in the yard in great condition.
We like animals, and would be happy to take care of most well behaved animals. (I am allergic to cats, so I can’t be in a house with indoor cats.)
We recently got the idea of house sitting, because I wanted to make better use of my time in Columbia this year. In college my husband rented a house that was on the market, and lived there for over a year. He kept the property nice, and had the house available to agents to show at any time. It worked out for the owner of the house that had moved, because they wanted the house to be lived in for two reasons. One reason - a furnished lived in house shows better and sells faster, and Second – a house that has someone coming and going is more likely to stay in good condition, with early detection of any problems that may arise.
